Why Students Are Switching from Chegg in 2026
No $15.95/mo bill
Chegg Study runs about $15.95 per month ($19.95 for Study Pack). Over a four-month semester that is $64–$80 before you even open a book. Fastie never charges.
Solutions without a paywall
Full textbook solutions and expert Q&A on Chegg sit behind a paid plan. Fastie returns step-by-step answers for the problems you upload or type—no subscription gate.
Homework + study tools together
After you solve a problem set, Fastie lets you turn key ideas into notes, AI flashcards, or a quiz. Chegg focuses on solutions; Fastie keeps the learning loop going in the same free account.
No trial that turns into a charge
Open Fastie in any browser, continue as guest or sign in with Google. There is no credit card, no free trial that auto-renews, and no expert-question quota.
Key Features Students Care About
Unlimited step-by-step solutions
Ask for the answer first, then request steps, alternative methods, or a simpler explanation. Nothing is gated behind a monthly plan or a limited number of expert questions.
Zero ads and zero subscription traps
No interstitial upgrades, no “unlock full solution” banners, no auto-renewing trial. Fastie is free for high-school and college students by design.
Photo solver + built-in study tools
Upload a worksheet or textbook page the same way you would on Chegg, get free answers, then generate flashcards or a quiz from the same session—without a separate paid add-on.
Real-World Example: Chemistry Problem Set
You have a multi-part chemistry worksheet. On Chegg you would need an active Study subscription to see full solutions. With Fastie:
- Open fastie.lovable.app and continue as guest (or sign in).
- Upload one clear photo of the full page (or type the questions).
- Ask: “Solve each part and show steps in order.”
- Get free step-by-step answers for every item.
- Optionally turn the key reactions or formulas into a flashcard deck or short quiz for the upcoming test.
Tip: good lighting, page filling the frame, and straight alignment produce the most accurate reads—same best practices as any camera-based helper.
